"Lunch Around the World fundraisers began four years ago and have been a tremendous success," said event organizer, Debbie Piemonte of North Attleboro. "I've been wanting to hold one in the area for a while and finally took the plunge. I couldn't think of a better cause. Elton John does so much on behalf of AIDS research and support, but he's only one person."
Piemonte said that there have been many generous contributors - from the folks at the Foxboro VFW, to professional athletes to area restaurants.
"Everything is all set to go and we can't wait to see everyone at this exciting event," Piemonte said. " After a fun-filled day celebrating Foxboro Founders Day, why not head over to the VFW to have some good food, take your chance on winning some cool items-including gift certificates and autographed sports memorabilia-and sing along with Elton John tribute artist Greg Ransom, who sounds amazingly like the Rocket Man himself!"
