A Dessert Club Show
Chuck Williams has been appearing along the
seacoast from Maine to New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Rhode
Island and Connecticut. Raised in Toledo, Ohio, Chuck has
lived most of his adult life in the Berkshires in Western
Massachusetts, moving to Cape Cod in 2002.
This
songwriters music is of love gained, love lost, growing up and
moving on. He can take you on a journey that makes you think,
smile and at times want to cry. He has been traveling New
England sowing seeds of his songs along the way. His lyrics and
melodies are a musical journey reflecting emotions of everyday
life

In
Performing Songwriter Magazine (December 2000), Music
Editor Russell Hall had this to say about Barbara
Phaneuf: “… A gifted composer, guitarist and singer who
shifts easily between ‘50’s style country pop, sprite
folk tunes, acoustic swing and torchy blues ballads.
Phaneuf often evokes the spirits of such past masters as
Ray Charles, Brenda Lee and Patsy Cline… Phaneuf is a
consummate craftsperson whose acoustic guitar based
songs take on richer hues with each listen.” Barb’s
eclectic taste can be explained by taking a look back at
her childhood. Dad was a saxophonist with a passion for
swing, while Mom secretly adored country music. Her
oldest brother Joe lived on Elvis, Chet Atkins and Pat
Boone records. Grandma lived upstairs and played songs
from Broadway musicals every Saturday afternoon on her
hi-fi. Brother Jack brought home a guitar and taught her
to play by working out every tune in the Joan Baez and
Beatles songbooks. The clincher was attending her first
music festival, Woodstock ’69. |

Split Bill
two of our favorite blues man
Mark's
solo show includes many great traditional delta blues numbers with a Chicago blues slant that transforms each tune into a "tour de force". Included are the blazing flat picking techniques that grabbed audiences in Mark's bluegrass days, the hot slide guitar playing that creates a mood and tambre change in each set and, the showmanship that was developed from years of experience as a band "front man". The end result is a night of blues and boogie woogie that can't be beat.
Solo Delta & Chicago Blues
Russ Mello
Wow—another hot blues player, with a satin voice to boot. Highlight of Russ' set: Big Bill Broonzy's "Hey, Hey," the lyrics of which run: "Hey, hey, hey, hey, baby, hey." There's still a raging debate as to whether it was actually written by Shakespeare or Ben Johnson. Pic & words Borrowed from Matt Putnam site
